Menagerie is a  magazine ,
and now, a book publisher.

Menagerie came into being one night in 2014 in Seattle at the Elephant and Castle. On a napkin we sketched out the parameters for the litmag: small-batch issues, only enough to read in one sitting; custom artwork; and wild, unconventional writing.

These same values have carried over to Menagerie Books. We curate and promote stories that break the confines of traditional publishing. We seek out authors who haven’t found a home as a cog in the corporate machinery or a shill for nonprofit grifters.

Small, hand-crafted, unconventional, through-provoking. We are Menagerie Books.
